The Company We Keep

         Our lesson will come from Proverbs 13:20: "He who walks with the wise                                                                                                                                   men will be wise                                                                                                                                       But the companion of the fools                                                                                                                                  will be destroyed."

According to Strong's, the word "companion" means to be a friend.  Is the 

term fool speaking of one who is intellectually disabled?  I do not believe Solomon was

speaking of destroying one who has the mind of a child.  I rather think when he speaks

of foolish men here, he is speaking of evil men.

        I rather believe the wise men are followers of God, who will have eternal life.  

Where the evil are more commonly known as fools who will find their path leads them

to damnation.  Mark 16:16 states, "He who believed and is baptized will be saved; but

he who does not believe will be condemned."

       Sometimes we find ourselves placed in a culture where we think only fools exist, but 

if we look hard enough, we will find that the wise live there as well. When you start to feel

like you are in a world full of fools, recall I Kings 19:18: "Yet I have reserved seven thousand 

in Israel. all whose knees have not bowed to Baal, and every mouth that has not kissed him," 

        The choice of the company you keep is up to you. In the end, you will be happier if you

keep company with the wise, and have eternal life.  Than to have company with fools and

 end up in utter destruction.

       Count your troubles as joys, for they give you an opportunity to preach Christ crucified.  An  example of this is found in Acts 5:40-42: "And they agreed with him, and when they had called for the  apostles and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of  Jesus, and let  them go.  So they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were worthy to suffer  shame for His name.  And daily in the temple, and in every house, they did not cease teaching and  preaching Jesus as the Christ.  Being beaten was the apostles' troubles; we find it caused them to not  cease preaching Christ as their opportunity.            In Acts 16:25-34, it tells how Paul and Silas were in jail (that is their trouble), and they praised  God, and were released.  In the long run, they saved the jailor as well as the jailor's whole household, which was t...

Chapter 8:A New Familiar

            On the next day, Prince Michael, found himself questioning how he would ever come upon a  familiar.  So, he went to ask his parents how he might find one.  He went as far as to tell them of the  oath he had made to the Troubled Youth.  Both of his parents thought he had acted foolishly, but helped  him nonetheless.  Lord Baltimore assured him, "that there are few who become familiars due to  committing a crime."         His Mother then stated, "Most familiars come to be through a deep spiritual bond, often being  shown through active meditation, spells, and focused intentions.  Now in your case I would find out if the Troubled Youth had made a spiritual bond with any animal.  If not had they seen one while asleep or in a deep trance.  If they do, find an animal fitting it's description and cast a spell on it."        Michael turned to Iv...
