Chapter Nine: The Witches Ball

 

     Prince Michael was taking his time in the bathroom, making sure every part of  him was beautiful

and shining,  He took a shower in body spray just in case he might meet that special someone.

Prince Michael spent most of his time with Ivory, so once, when a reporter had nothing to write about 

they started a rumor that the prince and Ivory were lovers.

      Ivory did not like reading this in the newspaper one bit, and so she laid the paper on the ground and

 peed on it.  She then very carefully took the prince aside and explained what it said.  Telling 

him that to stop such rumors, he needed to see other people besides just her.  She said, "It is giving

you and me a bad reputation, and the newspapers do talk.  I, for one, do not care for one moment about

what they are saying about me.  Not that being compared to your ancestor Gym Stone is a bad thing,

but I am not going to turn into a person.  I'm sorry, but a relationship between you and me would be

more like beastility."

        The prince tries to defend himself, but only makes matters worse.   He says, "I know what 

beastility is, and I never had sex with you.  I just hang out with you and pet you."

         Ivory then said to the prince, "You are only making it worse.  Appearances and a family history

 make for a good newspaper story.   So, mingle with other witches, and confuse the newspapers. 

 

Might make you feel good, I understand love has its own spells."

         The prince understood that he had just been chewed out by his dog.  Now it was not just any 

normal dog, either it was his familiar.  She had been his friend since early adolescence, who had been

with him through sickness and health, good times and bad.  Now she had told him to look for a kind of

his own to get love from.

           He talked this over with his slave, Peter, who explained to him that she was just embarrassed by 

what the newspapers had said.  Furthermore, she was just giving him a piece of good advice, and that 

she would be there for him until death parted the two of them.  Peter was sure she did not mean to hurt 

his feelings.  Just go to parties, make friends, go on dates, let love have its day!  That is all Ivory was

trying to say.

           Prince Michael realized this was true and went back to memorizing the Lord's Prayer.  That is 

one prayer he recited daily.  He said,  "My Father which art in heaven

                                                               Hallow be thy name

                                                               Thy kingdom come

                                                                Thy will be done

                                                                On earth as it is in heaven

                                                                 Give us this day our daily bread.

                                                                And forgive us our debts

                                                                  As we forgive our debtors

                                                                And do not lead us into temptation

                                                                 But deliver us from the evil one

                                                                For yours is the kingdom

                                                                And the power

                                                                And the glory 

                                                                Forever. Amen

"Well, as usual, nothing happened, but I'm certain someday it will."

            The prince then took a look at the Wicked News.  The prince noticed an ad in it that said:

                                                                    What: The Witches Ball

                                                                     Where: 666 Skull & Crossbone Corner

                                                                     Clothing: Little As Possible

                                                                     Time:        12:00 AM

                                                                      Date:         Friday, June 13

Michael cuts the article out, stating that he is going to that party.  

           Ivory crosses over and looks at the article.  She then says, "Prince Michael, while I am not 

against you going to the party, I would like to go with you if for no other reason than to observe as a 

wallflower. Will there be any other guards besides me?"  

     

          To which Prince Michael said, "Well, I suppose Peter could go, if he sits on the sidelines

and observes like you."

           

           In unison, they (Ivory & Peter)  said, "As you command, my Lord."

           

           To which the prince says, "Most will probably be in their underwear, but I will come in royal

attire complete with cape and ring. Peter, you will wear your bow and arrow.  Ivory tou will wear your 

Ivory collar to the party. 

            The three came home Friday afternoon and took a three-hour nap, waking up at nine in the 

evening. Michael was first to wake up and, he dressed the other two.  That is, he dressed the other two 

after nodding his head and putting on his own royal garb.  With a snap of his fingers, he had Peter's

military uniform on.  He snapped his fingers once, and the ivory collar was on Ivory.

               Prince Michael then grabbed Ivory as the two of them leapt on Peter's back.  Michael then 

nodded his head as the three of them found themselves magically being transported down a dark 

hallway.  The next thing they knew, they heard was royal music being played.  The prince said, "I think 

they know we're here."

    

            Peter sits down so that Michael and Ivory can get off and walk on their own.  Ivory runs into the

 well-lit circular room first, and she has herself a seat.  Then comes Peter with his bow and arrow 

pulled, but not used.  Lastly, the prince casually walks in as the room spreads apart.  

           One of the male witches comes over with his head bowed and says, "My lord, you are a little

overdressed for this party.  Your cape and ring are fine, but you might want to strip to your 

underclothing.  Most of the witches here are in their bare necessaries, but you're too young to 

understand all that yet.

           The prince took a wave of his cloak, and his clothes disappeared down to his silk boxers,

His royal cloak and ring were left on him.  Ivory & Peter were slightly embarrassed for him, but he was 

doing what the people wanted.  People of both genders came to dance with him.  Michael was young

and did not know why, yet, but he preferred to dance with female witches.  The male witches he 

danced with was done was purely for political reasons.

               The witches' ball was over about six in the morning.  That is when we all went home as

Peter teased Michael, which Ivory did not think was too smart.  She said as the Prince every day, 

"Maybe you will find someone at the next party."
