Chapter Two: The Visitors

           It was 11:00 AM, and Peter Alexander was doing his job sitting by the door.  As a familiar, Ivory 

was doing her job as she stretched out to protect Michael from all harm. Michael was just waking 

up from his nighttime slumber when all of a sudden the door cried out, " Prince Baltimore Darwin, 

along with a fuzzy-faced fellow, are here to see Sir Michael. Should I show them in?"

           Peter tells the door to open up as the two visitors enter.  Ivory starts to growl, but is quickly

hushed as it is explained to her not to growl at the Prince, for he is the Head Master of the School, nor 

to growl at the fuzzy-faced fellow, for he holds a Doctorate in Psychology, and tells people how to run 

their lives.    Peter then welcomes the two visitors, as Michael clumsily gets dressed.  Prince Darwin

sets down by Michael introducing him (and the rest of the room) to Dr. Robert T Quack.  Prince Darwin

explains that Michael will start school in the Spring (JAN), but for now, you will need to see Dr. Quack 

for your mood disorders.

           At which point, Prince Baltimore Darwin leaves Dr. Quack there alone with the other three in 

the room.  Doctor Quack asks Peter to go down to the park for a couple of hours, so that he can get to 

know his new royal patient, Michael Bloodstone.  Doctor Quack decides to let Ivory stay as she is 

Michael's familiar and confidant.  Peter walks out of the room, rather hurt. 

           Doctor Robert T. Quack starts to work on Michael by reading his mind to find out what is hurting

him so much.  He finds out through a mind manipulation that it is his Father, the Prince Baldwin 

Darwin claimed him after twelve years, which has hurt him so much.  Also, the fact that he was now 

living in a magical land and was treated as royalty.  Not to mention that he was not seeing his mother 

and grandfather anymore. 

          Doctor Quack realized that Michael was just a normal child who wanted to be treated like any

other child his age.  He realized that after twelve years of his life, having Michael's Father walk back 

into his life and reclaim him would cause some emotional pain.  Yet he had to get Michael to 

understand it was all for the best.  In the meantime, he would try to cure Michael's homesickness by

getting him visits from his mother as well as his grandfather.  After all, he did not see that this could 

hurt. 

        Doctor Quack's plan of action was to try to take Michael out to do things children his age would 

do.  Teach him that not everything is as easy as they look, as far as his father was concerned.  To see if 

he could not get visits from the Bloodstones for Michael.  Ivory thought the idea of the visit from the 

Bloodstones sounded like a splendid idea.  Doctor Quack regrouped with Peter and the Prince to tell

them his plan of action.  Prince Darwin thought the Doctor sounded a bit nuts, because Michael wasn't

just any child but a royal, witch child.

         Doctor Quack agreed withthis point. But still felt Michael must have a normal childhood.  A

childhood that is as close to normal as possible.  You do not want to rob him of his childhood

and force him straight into adulthood, do you?  Nor is it a good idea to put him into total isolation.  

That is all that I am saying! 

         It was also explained to Prince Baltimore Baldwin by Dr. Quack that a great deal of Michael's

anger was due to his coming into his life after twelve years, and then claiming him as his own.  The 

Prince looked a little hurt, for he felt that he had failed as a parent.  Therefore, he went right out and got 

his son a top-of-the-line Z-500 droid to play with.  This droid included a camera and a pin, so it was

carefully sent through Magic Land Mail. No mail gets there faster, nor costs more in tariffs! 

          Prince Darwin figured a droid was an appropriate toy for a child his son's age.  He figured it 

would fit into Dr. Quack's recommendation to treat him like a twelve-year-old.  This toy pleased 

Michael greatly, and he used it in the park.  It was the one thing that Prince Darwin had got him that 

pleased him.  This was because he was able to forget he was a witch, and just be a normal twelve-year-

old for the time being. 

          The family's archenemy, the paparazzi, was in the area.  They were busy taking pictures of 

Michael is playing with his beloved toy Z-500 droid.  Michael was enjoying himself taking pictures of 

wildlife.  An old hag (complete with a wart at the end of her nose) sitting in a rocking chair threw 

magic spells to get rid of the paparazzi so that Michael could play.  Instead, Michael, Peter, and Ivory 

pack up their stuff and make their getaway.  As for the old hag, she just got in her rocket-powered 

broom and told herself that she had done a good day's job. 

          

             In the meantime Dr Quack had left a message for Michael's Grandfather Bloodstone & Rosetta,

to come visit Michael as soon as possible; he even hinted at doing a dinner date.  Doctor Quack 

explains to  Dr. Bloodstone's receptionist that it is a matter of Michael's psychological emergency.  

Doctor Quack told them to beware of the family's archenemy, the paparazzi, for they would even hide 

in the salt shakers given half a chance.  If told when they were coming, there would be other 

bodyguards, other than just Peter and Ivory, for the visit. 

            Michael's grandfather talked it over with Rosetta, and they decided to see Michael with Prince

Baltimore Darwin at Cheese's Cafe on Saturday night.  They told Michael this, and he changed his 

clothes fifty times.   The basic reason this happened was a nervous condition where he couldn't control

the little magical powers he had.   It was as natural as the hiccups, but Peter brewed him some

 Chemonyl tea to calm down his nerves.  Ivory suggested he calm down since it is not until Saturday.

Peter added, "After all, they're just your parents."

               It was Saturday night, and Michael was not feeling all right.  In fact, he was going through the

clothing change episode again.  When all of a sudden, out of nowhere, the door yells out, "PRINCE

DARWIN, AN OLDER GENTLEMAN, A HOT MIDDLE-AGED DAME, AND A CAST OF OTHER 

CHARACTERS ARE HERE,"

                 Peter told the door to open as the Father, Mother, and Grandfather came in.

                 Rosetta notices Michael is a case of nerves and says, "Aww, Mommy and Grampa are here, 

everything will be better now."

              She said this as she held him close, and he started to cry.  He even split into two parts, to 

which Ivory said, "Calm down, pull yourself togeather this is the night we have all so looked forward 

to, now let's go eat at Cheese's Cafe before the food all gets cold."

               Rosetta took Michael by the hand as they all walked out of the room and rode to Cheese's.  

Prince Darwin had rented the Cafe for the evening (the sort of thing he did from time to time).  Others

in the room to guard the Darwin/Bloodstone party from the poporozzi was the elephant in the room,

the old hag, a six-foot talking rabbit, Peter Alexander, Ivory, a six-foot talking mouse, and a host of 

others.

             Rosetta explained to Michael that the reason" he was kept from his father was due to the 

tabloids.  They did, after all, have a heyday once you returned to Magic Land.  So as you can see, it 

was of no fault of your Father's, we were just trying to protect you, " 

            Michael just got angry and started throwing unicorns and butterflies throughout the room.

His Mother just calmly asked him to control his temper.  Ivory licked his face, trying to calm him down.

Prince Darwin just looked at Michael with his green eery looking at his son's green eery looking eyes.  

             While Rosetta looked worried about this look, Michael got the message.  He quit his fit-

throwing out and soon returned to eating his Lasagnia.  Soon, Carrot Cake with cream cheese icing was

brought out.  After eating it, they all went home.  

               Before going home, Rosetta asked Prince Darwin, "However did you handle my son?"

                Prince Darwin just reminded her, "Michael is also his son, and once in a while, father 

knows best!"

                Rosetta just agreed to this, giving Prince Darwin akiss and saying, "At times love has its own

spell."

                Prince Darwin brings out a 24-carat diamond ring and asks Rosetta if she will marry him. He 

will go as far as to give Michael his rightful last name of Darwin and make him a prince.  He tells her if 

she is to the agreement, they will do it on January 1.   To which she replies yes to the marriage, but to

changing Michael's name, that is up to him.
