Thunder's Mother

            As we open our story up we find a old white dog with apricot spots getting out of a checkered 

cab.     The cabbie gets seven bags out of the taxi and carries them out for the old dog.  The old dog

moves her hat around on top of her head as all old dogs do.  Chucko (the butler) greets her at the door 

asking her what her name is, as well as what her business was.

              The old dog pounded her walking stick into the Cobblestone Pavement.  She then stated, "Look

here you overgrown ape, I have come over six hundred miles by bus to see my son, Thunder.  I demand 

to see him now!  Do I make myself understood, sonny?"

              Chucko let her in all the while being beaten up by an old dog.  While all this was going on he 

was attempting to make a call to Thunder.  Thunder said to sit her down, give her some cookies. and 

some hot tea, "and oh yes ask if she needs to take her medicine."

               So Chucko very politely got her to a comfortable chair.  He then got her a plate of cookies,

and asked her what type of tea she wanted.  To which Lightening being hard of hearing asked him to 

repeat himself.  So Chucko spoke up this time and said, "What type of tea would you like?

               To which she said "FLEA, no I take a medical bath once a month to keep them off of me.  You

can have 'em if you like, but kindly keep them away from Thunder and me."

                Chucko had trouble not laughing out loud as he said, "I said tea T-E-A not flea F-L-E-A.  

Thunder also asked me to remind you to take your medicine if you had not done so yet."

                 Lightening had a worried look on her face all of a sudden.  Then all of a sudden she spoke up

and said, "Well I will have peach tea if you have any.  I'll also have a glass of water to take my 

medicine with.  What in the Sam Hill made him (Thunder) think of my medicine anyway?

                Chucko just shrugged as he gave her the water and hot tea.  Chucko asked her if she needed 

anything else.  Lightning said if it was not any trouble she could use her knitting bag.

                  Chucko told her that would be no trouble at all.  He went up to her room and got her 

knitting bag.  He then came back down and gave it to her.  As she was knitting a blanket for her son,  

Chucko went on to cook enough food for a king's army.

                    Jimmy came down from his upstairs office.  He introduces himself to Lightening,  

Lightning just asks him if he had seen her son Thunder.  Jimmy said Thunder would be in the room 

soon he had to finish with his clients' therapy sessions.

                   At about eight O'clock PM Thunder steps onto the scene and confirms that lightning is in 

fact his mother.   As he holds out his paws and say mother.   The two old dogs Lightning & Thunder

embrace kissing one another.  Then Thunder suggest the four of them (Chucko, Jimmy, Lightning, &

Thunder) eat for Thunder is famished.  The rest agreed as they go into the dining room to eat.  With

much food left over Chucko gathers it together and brings it to the local shelter.
