Mistaken Identity

The following is a complete work of fiction any likenesses to any persons

alive or dead is purely a coincidence.

Jeremy's dog, Stormy needed to be taken to the groomers' very bad.  It's hair and nails

were way too long.   The problem was that Jeremy was out of cash and didn't have the money to put

sixty dollars down on his dog at the time being.  His friend Rohnda did have the money, and took the

dog to the Doggy Beauty Salon to have the dog taken care of and pampered.

Rohnda had them do a flee treatment as well to the dog.  When the Doggy Beauty Salon was

finished with Stormy he was a brand-new dog.  Stormy's breath was minty fresh, and his teeth were so

white that they sparkled like diamonds.  All the dogs that went there received the same treatment.

When dogs left the groomers, they smelt like flowers on a warm Spring Day.   Rhonda

came by and picked up a dog that appeared to her by sight to be Stormy.  When Rhonda took Stormy

home Jeremy thanked her, but noticed some things wasn't quite right about Stormy.  To begin with

Stormy did not have black skin which under Stormy's hair Stormy had, nor was there a red mark on

Stormy's paw, like Stormy had.

Rhonda explained to Jeremy that the red marks were from blood where the dog had itched

himself too much.  Jeremy thought to himself maybe so, but he is still to quiet.  As well as being

abnormaly quiet, he was also abnormaly clingy.  Jeremy appriciated the change though. As time went

by he grew to accept the changes in Stormy as part of the aging process.  He did with it as he did with

all things and passively accepted it.

"After all," he said to himself, "the dog is good company."

He realized the Stormy he had now was good company even if it had been a case of

mistaken identity.
