People Of A Different Size
It was cold and grey out with no promise of snow in the forecast for several days. That made
little difference to Joe though for as long as he had Jo Anne all would be right with the world. For Joe
was eighteen, and Jo Anne was sixteen. Between the two of them they felt they knew all of the
answers that there was to know, and if they did not know it probably was not worth knowing. Anyway
that is how they seemed to behave to the world.
Jo Anne went to school to get an education but did not take her education to serious. Where
as Joe went to the Other University located in Some Other Place Else to get a degree in fiction. So,
both Joe and Jo Anne had their lives all laid out ahead of them. Their lives would be in a world of
fictitious fantasy.
When people accused them of living in a world of fantasy the two of them would just blow
them off. After all Joe's major was in fiction so his philosophy was in a world where unicorns and
Santa Clause lived. To Jo Anne, Joe was the next best thing to an Ice Cream Sunday which Jo Anne
dearly did so love. Joe just smiled and called Jo Anne his little fairy. Of course, this did sort of make
since, because Joe was eight feet tall, and Jo Anne was four foot five inches. When you are in love as
Joe and Jo Anne were size did not matter.
When the two of them were cold they would just snuggle together to keep warm with their
friction. Joe would often pick Jo Anne up to kiss her. This he did ever so gently and carefully. Taking
care not to drop her for after all she was his little fairy.
When Joe was away at Other University, he would make time to e-mail Jo Anne once a day.
Jo Anne would always email him right back and send him a care package once a week. Joe was not
hurting on his goody supplies, and sometimes would give his roommate some of the goodies. His
roommate was scared of Joe due to his size.
Joe laughed at his roommate because size should not matter. "After all my girlfriend was
half of my size I got things for her which she could not reach, and likewise she did the same for me.
In the end people of different sizes help each other out. This makes it a wonderful world."
Joe's roommate felt rather foolish then and apologized saying, "I only knew what I read
in stories like Jack and The Beanstalk about giants. You are after all a giant, and I feared you too would
be mean."
At that Joe yawned and reminded him of the Jolly Green Giant & Sprout. "See tall and
small working it out in the garden. A smart man does not judge another by their size."
Then the two of them went to sleep as Joe dreamt of his fairy. When he woke up the next
morning he showered and got dressed early. He stopped to email his little fairy telling her of the events
that had happened. As he closed the letter, he looked outside to notice that it was gray and cold with no
promise of snow in the forecast.
